I will admit - I am a huge proponent of the Maya Wrap and other soft, flexible, hugged to the body type carriers. But our daughter will be 15 months when we go on our city trip next month, and she wants to look around and move her arms so much. We ordered this so she could be up off the ground and moving at our pace, without the inconvenience of a stroller in places like subways and art museums.

I've used it while washing my car, going on a picnic, and walking around the neighborhood. It's great at distributing the weight. It takes some getting used to, though, like any carrier. The weird things are when baby shifts her weight, it sort of moves the wearer's center of gravity. And the weight on the shoulders, even though well padded and distributed, is burdensome. We'll see how it stands up to a week in the city, but I'm confident it will be a major tool in our toddler-wearing arsenal.

Also, it's very spacious. We use cloth diapers as much as we can, and there is plenty of room for taking along 5 of them, plus wipes, extra outfits, sunscreen, snacks and water.
